Get Interactive at the Research Presession

The Research Presession looks a little different this year, a little more interactive. Our Individual Paper sessions and Roundtable Discussions have been combined to create a new session type—Interactive Paper sessions.

Attend an Interactive Paper session and you’ll get to hear two to four different research papers in one session! The sessions are grouped around a common theme, such as professional development, early learning, or technology. For example, on Tuesday, session #48, focuses on equity and preservice teachers, with papers titled, “Developing an Equity Pedagogy for School Mathematics,” “Identifying and Defining Equitable Mathematics Instruction,” and “Understanding a Beginning Teacher’s Sensitivity to Students and Mathematics.”

Each paper will present a brief overview presentation to the entire audience then engage in two roundtable rotations to stimulate discussion with small groups of audience members.

If you didn’t get to ask all your questions in the discussion rotations, not to worry, the session will conclude with remarks from a discussant selected by the program planning committee and questions from the audience.

There are 18 Interactive Papers sessions throughout the conference, that’s over 50 paper presentations! Pick your favorites to attend, but don’t forget about our Research Symposiums and Work Sessions as well. Poster Sessions are Monday and Tuesday night (another 50 papers you have access to!). With so much to choose from, which sessions will you attend?

View the online planner for more information on Interactive Papers sessions and the Research Presession program.
